New Paintings of January

This blog post is about my 7 new Paintings created in January 2021.

I have started this year with abstract painting. It was mixed media on paper. I have chosen bright pinks, reds and royal blue with sparks of warm yellows for this painting.

Couldn’t help painting first tulips as well. I love flowers… For me - flowers are always a great gift (both fresh and painted ones).

This time my model were little peony-like looking fragrant tulips.

I began this still-life in October ‘20

and left it for a while. This January I found it and got it done. Now it is framed in a beautiful golden frame and ready for hang.

One more floral painting on a 3D box canvas. Flowers here are symbolic, kind of reminding us “Wait a moment, have a look at the sky, what colour is it today? - …actually, life is so beauytiful!”

This January we had a several snow days in a row (usually we don’t have any here in the south of Russia.) So this painting is kind of diary page from that snow days.
