No Bad Days

We are all having bad days once in a while… But there are plenty of simple ways to improve your mood and turn your evening around. Here they are:

#1 - Listen to music.

Plug your headphones in and listen to your favourite music.

Surprisingly, but even sad music can make you feel better if you’re having a rough day. One recent study found that 76% of participants felt positive emotions after listening to a gloomy tune

#2 - Watch some comedy.

Laughter reduces levels of the stress hormones cortisol and epinephrine in the brain and help you to relax.

#3 - Just relax.

Snuggle up under a blanket, make some hot chocolate or whatever you like and use lamps to make your living room darker. Light a couple of candles.

#4 - Stroke a pet.

Stroking a pet helps to release oxytocin (the ‘cuddle’ hormone) in the brain, making you feel calmer. It can help to lower your blood pressure as well.

#5 - Eat some chocolate or ice cream to boost your endorphins.
If you choose chocolate - opt for one with 70% cocoa solids for best results.
#6 - Try aromatherapy.

Try orange and lavender aromatherapy oils

If you’re feeling anxious, it will help you to calm down.

#7 - Write down your gratitudes.

Writing a short list of gratitudes will help to remind you of positive things in your life. Easy - but helps a lot!

#8 - Hug someone.

Like stroking a pet, hugging helps to release the oxytocin in your brain to improve your mood. I absolutely like to hug 8 times a day with my sons, especially with a smaller one.

#9 - Tidy up and declutter.

Believe it or not, but cleaning the house always make me feel better, though takes time ofcourse.

So if you you don’t feel like going to the gym - just apply your “negative” energy in the right direction and clean the house.

#10 - Take a warm bath or shower.

#11 - Meditate for at least 10-15 min.

#12 - Go to Yoga or Stretching Class even if you don’t do usually.

It helps to get rid of the muscle clamps and make you feel better.

#13 - Go for a walk with someone you like or just alone and watch the beauty of nature. It re-charges and fills with new energy.

These were some ideas on how to feel better in a “bad day”. Hope you find something for yourself and it works out well!

Wish you all the best,

take care!
