Drawing as a practice…

When you are an artist I believe it is essential to keep practice of phisical drawing by our fingers and not touch pad…

Now when we see so much digital art and digital sketching around us (which I don’t mind at all) - honestly, I really adore to watch last century artist’s drawings created by hand…

I don’t draw much now, but sometimes I choose simple things around me for quick sketches.

It may be seasonal food left on the table or some sport gear at the corner of the room, or just reflection of my face in the mirrow…

I usually do such sketches in ink/ink pen, charcoal, oil pastels or markers just for the practice of drawing… just to keep the drawing line alive.. :)

For drawing these crawfish I chose a simple craft paper tinted a bit with terracotta acrylic.

Then I drew crawfish over it in black ink pen.

To make the crawfish look more real - I have added shadows and lights on them in oil pastels.

The color blocks of the tablecloth under the plate were also done in oil pastels.

Sometimes very simple things “left unattended” by someone may become very good model for sketching :)

That time I was drawing tennis racket and shoes of my son and I liked the process itself..
